Conditions of entry

1. This Tournament is sanctioned by the UAE TA and ITF and will be conducted under the present Rules of Lawn Tennis and the ITF regulations for the organisation of Seniors Tournaments and the Code of Conduct as shown in the ITF Seniors Regulations 2009. It is a Category 4 ITF Seniors Tournament.

2. The Tournament Committee shall have entire control of the tournament and reserve the right to make such changes and decisions as considered necessary to facilitate completion of the tournament. The committee reserves the right to use other venues or courts.

3. Only those competitors who have reached the minimum age for the event they have entered on or before 31 December 2009 shall be eligible to compete.

4. Players may be required to play more than one match in an event on any day.

5. The draw  for all events will be made on Saturday 28th February at the Aviation Club.

6. Playing Times. Individual match times must be obtained prior to Tuesday 3rd March by phoning the Tournament Director, Liz Vlotman on 050 1032789. Draw sheets and daily schedules will be posted at the tournament venue and at the player hotel.

7. The tournament will make every effort to conduct all events with full draws. However, in case of very small draws, the tournament reserves the right to amalgamate draws.

8. Any disputes arising that are not in the province of the umpire or referee to settle, shall be referred to the Tournament Referee whose decision shall be final.

9. No complaint in connection with the Championships will be considered by the Tournament Committee unless it is made in writing and provided to the referee within 48 hours of the occurrence causing the complaint. The decision of the tournament committee in all matters shall be final.

10. Regulation tennis attire must be worn.

11. It is the player’s responsibility to check the draw, ascertain his or her time for each match and be ready to play when called upon, irrespective of weather conditions.

12. This tournament qualifies for ranking points in the ITF Seniors Ranking System.

13.Competitors should take all necessary precautions to minimise his/her own risk in participating in the Championships, acknowledge that he/she enters at his/her own risk and is solely responsible for any loss, damage, personal injury or death suffered by him/her or caused to other parties as a result of any act, defect, neglect or omission by him/her. In addition Competitors undertake to indemnify LoVe sports (Liz Vlotman Consultancy ) to any loss or damage suffered by LoVe sports arising from their participation in the event. Competitors should take out their own travel insurance, in the event, due to unforeseeable circumstances, the championships have to be cancelled.

Player Agreement & Release

In consideration of your agreement to allow me to participate in the Dubai Seniors Tennis Championships (“the Event”) I hereby:

1. agree to encourage and maintain high standards of conduct, fair play and good sportsmanship, and to avoid any acts which may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis. I am aware that the Event shall take place in accordance with the Seniors Regulations 2008, the Seniors Circuit Code of Conduct, the Constitution of ITF Limited and the Rules of Tennis adopted by the ITF. In submitting my entry into the Event I undertake to abide by and fulfil all my obligations under the above-mentioned Rules and Regulations. I also agree to co-operate in good faith with others and to respect playing rules and schedules and, to the extent applicable, travel arrangements and accommodation;

2. agree and consent to my performance or appearance in the Event being photographed, filmed and/or recorded in any medium, and that such stills, film or recording in whole or in part may at your absolute discretion be incorporated in any form of television transmission, publication, film and videogram, or other electronic media of whatever nature now or hereafter invented throughout the world in perpetuity, and consent to the reproduction and use of my name, voice, likeness, performance or biographical details for the purposes of advertising, publicity or otherwise in relation to the exploitation of such film or recording, and the promotion of the Event and the commercial rights thereto;

3. agree that you shall be entitled at any time to assign or licence the whole or any part of the benefit of this Release to any third party.

4. agree in submitting an entry form into the Event I agree, as a condition of entry, that for myself and my executors, administrators, heirs and personal representatives, all claims of any kind, nature and description are waived, including past, present or future claims and injuries if any sustained in travelling to or from or participating in the Event, against the ITF, the host venue, its officers and Volunteers, the Regional Association or National Association sanctioning this event.
